Visit Asheville, famous for food, beer and arts then tour the Biltmore Estate, the largest private home in the United States.

About Your Trip

Tour the majestic Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina where you'll take in the sweeping Blue Ridge Mountain views and fresh mountain air. Activities include surrounding yourself with blooming gardens, participating in outdoor adventures and sampling wine at the Biltmore's own winery and tasting room.

Explore the galleries and restaurants of Asheville, known for their artistic and eclectic flair. The River Arts District is home to more than 200 artists in multiple studios where you can peruse and purchase pottery, paintings, jewelry, furniture and garden sculptures.

In your free time, take a leisurely walking tour through downtown Asheville along “The Urban Trail,” which highlights the architecture, personalities and historic events unique to the area. You can also stroll along Patton Avenue to see the bronze top hat on a bench, check out the giant iron in front of the 1926 Flat Iron Building, and look for the “On the Move” sculpture that captures the history of transportation.

What we love:
• The opulent Biltmore House is the largest privately-owned mansion in America.

Destination

In 1784, William Davidson and his family settled the area that would later become known as Asheville. In 1797, the city was given its official name of Asheville after Governor Samuel Ashe. The city’s most recognizable landmark, The Biltmore Estate, was completed in 1895. Richard Morris Hunt designed the residence for George Vanderbilt and it is the largest private home in the United States. Today, Asheville is an eclectic and inviting city in the western Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Known for its bustling arts scene, live music and beautiful architecture, you will find unique galleries and museums, as well as tours of historical buildings.
